[Essay] If i were a scientist

India has given to the world a great many scientists like Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose, Sir Vishweshwaraiya , SrinivasRamanujan, Sir C. V. Raman, Dr. Homi Bhabha, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and Dr. Abdul Kalam. I admire them all.

So many a times I keep wondering what “If I were a scientist” let me think. What can I do for the best of my Country, my people and all of the above for all the living beings residing on earth. How can I be useful to humanity? How can I be useful for the conservation and preservation of earth? To what extent I would be at service to mother earth?

If I were a scientist, service to mankind would be first and foremost duty of life. I would work round the clock to invent remedies for deadly diseases like AIDS and cancer. I would try to put an end to human suffering . I would invent medicines that would make and old age worth living.

As a scientist, I would request all the scientists of the world to use the atomic and nuclear energy for the welfare of mankind only. Moreover I would pray to God to remove deadly diseases of human mind like greed, jealousy, enmity etc. thus I would do my level best to be a true servant of mankind if I were a scientist.

We do not appreciate parental advice and we feel it is too condescending. Parents also refuse to understand this phase of the child. Actually parents should be made friends and role model as they always wish the best for their children. Lack of reading and too much dependency on TV, computers , internet and films, can lead to ...

[essay]Use and abuse of leisure

Leisure means free time away from routine work, which can be spent doing activities of hobbies, which one likes to do like reading, hearing music, collecting stamps, gardening. Some misunderstand the meaning of leisure. For them it means whiling away time, roaming and wandering aimlessly, playing pranks etc. Leisure is a must to give a break to a dull routine. It is wrong to use holidays as working days. People who don’t believe in leisure, suffer from boredom, tension or depression. Leisure doesn’t mean indulging in heavy activities and it also doesn't mean wastage of time. Those who while away time are abusing leisure. They get into a lethargic mode and find it difficult to get out of it. Those who inculcate hobbies can wisely use their time and ensure their all round development. By playing sports and doing physical activities we can be physically fit. Leisure activities should not be expensive and time consuming . They should not in any way hamper the peace and harmony...
