[essay] My new year resolution

The trend of making resolutions is as old as the burning of the effigy of the old man. The tradition laid stress on forgetting the old and ushering in the new year with new beginning and aspirations.
NewYears Resolution
Resolutions are made at the beginning of the year in order to lay down goals, which are desirable and achievable. Every year before new New Year’s Day one needs to contemplate on what one has done during the year. Before making new resolutions one must ponder on which ones have not been fulfilled and which goals need to be achieved.
Many people say that resolutions are only made to be broken but it is not so. As a student my resolutions usually revolves around the studies, professional and personal growth. My parents, peers and friends and relatives influence my resolutions.
I usually make simple resolution, which i can easily fulfill by myself. This year i have resolved to have a better understanding of my subjects, especially the ones i disliked earlier. I have decided to get a good result in my exams.

Personally i find that my exercise of deciding my new years’ resolution has helped me manage my time well, make good friends and even have time for entertainment and games. I never make resolutions, which i can never fulfill. I look forward every year to make my new years’ resolution

  1. I have a pretty massive list for my New years Resolutions, but I set goals throughout the year so in a way, it's just more of the same. However....!

While I was researching my blog for New Years Resolutions last week, I found a shocking statistic. Only 8% of people who set New Years Resolutions actually achieve them – 92% fail! 24% ALWAYS fail and 49% fail after a couple of obstacles.

In my blog http://www.lifechange90.com/new-years-resolutions/ I discussed this and came up with some ideas. I’d love it if you and your readers had a look and told me what you think!

Best wishes for a Happy New Year, and good luck with your resolutions!

[Essay] If i were a scientist

India has given to the world a great many scientists like Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose , Sir Vishweshwaraiya , SrinivasRamanujan , Sir C. V. Raman, Dr. Homi Bhabha, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and Dr. Abdul Kalam. I admire them all. So many a times I keep wondering what “If I were a scientist” let me think. What can I do for the best of my Country, my people and all of the above for all the living beings residing on earth. How can I be useful to humanity? How can I be useful for the conservation and preservation of earth? To what extent I would be at service to mother earth? If I were a scientist, service to mankind would be first and foremost duty of life. I would work round the clock to invent remedies for deadly diseases like AIDS and cancer. I would try to put an end to human suffering . I would invent medicines that would make and old age worth living. As a scientist, I would request all the scientists of the world to use the atomic and nuclear energy for the welfare

[essay] Role of teacher in moulding a student's life

Teachers takes the place of parents in a school, they guide and mould the character and personality of the student. They influence the formative years of the students. A good teacher coaxes and helps a student to understand his abilities and become a better human being. The children look up to their teachers so it is very easy to mould them to divert their attention to things which are constructive. Students are going to be the future citizen of the country- so it is the duty of the teacher to harness their capabilities in making the future of country bright. To be a role model a teacher should learn to appreciate studies themselves, then only can they make the students appreciate the importance of education and knowledge in their lives. Unsure teachers only teach for money. They destroy the growth of students and cannot be role models. Teachers should not consider teaching to be a money spinning business. They should understand that they are in a noble profession and the growth and

[Essay] The pleasures and pains of youth

The period of teenage is a short but a beautiful one. We begin our teens when we are “thirteen” and we end it with “nineteen”. It is also called a period of adolescence – when you are neither a child nor an adult. It is a time for privacy but on the other hand there is a lot of peer pressure. You start growing up and understanding your physical qualities and understanding the importance of looking good. You look out for a role model – a wrong model can put your life in jeopardy. The right role model can uplift your life. You want to act grown up but you lack the confidence, so many times you act in an immature manner creating problems for our own selves. We do not appreciate parental advice and we feel it is too condescending. Parents also refuse to understand this phase of the child. Actually parents should be made friends and role model as they always wish the best for their children. Lack of reading and too much dependency on TV, computers , internet and films, can lead to
