Leisure means free time away from routine work, which can be spent doing activities of hobbies, which one likes to do like reading, hearing music, collecting stamps, gardening. Some misunderstand the meaning of leisure. For them it means whiling away time, roaming and wandering aimlessly, playing pranks etc. Leisure is a must to give a break to a dull routine. It is wrong to use holidays as working days. People who don’t believe in leisure, suffer from boredom, tension or depression. Leisure doesn’t mean indulging in heavy activities and it also doesn't mean wastage of time. Those who while away time are abusing leisure. They get into a lethargic mode and find it difficult to get out of it. Those who inculcate hobbies can wisely use their time and ensure their all round development. Every child going to school is physically harassed with the burden of carrying many books per subject. Their school bags run into kilos, weighing down their tiny backs and stunting their physical growth or giving them back and spine problems. Instead of going for regular studies of graduation and post graduation, students prefer to go in for short term professional courses so that they can start earning at a young age. Ragging means teasing in a light vein, cracking jokes but not at the expense of others. Ragging is fun if done in the right spirit. Traditionally it is meant to break the ice between the new and the old students and to encourage better co-operation among the students.
